Animated mural created during an artist in residence at the Red Victorian in January 2016.

An animated mural painted as several hundred slightly different frames. This piece is based on a speech Martin Luther King delivered at the 1967 National Conference on New Politics... Dr. King called out the three most destructive forces in 1967 America as racism, materialism, and militarism... Fast forward 50 years and not much has changed...I try not to judge or moralize, but I found King's speech so powerful that I felt I had to pass it along... Brotha Moe, 90s Bay Area rap legend and the philospher King of Potrero hill, helped lay down the audio to give MLKs words a modern cadence ... All of this is meant to inspire little acts of community and goodwill.
