Plastic Recycling Machines
A series of DIY recycling machines based off plans from Dave Hakkens and the Precious Plastic Project. I received funding from the Pratt Institute and Guerilla Science to build the machines in Pratt's metal shop during the summer of 2017. The machines have been used for demos at local schools, the Oregon Eclipse Festival, and the A/D/O gallery in Brooklyn.
Light Design: Student Project
A series of modular magnetic paper lamps designed to be played with as building blocks. Each lamp unfolds to pack flat for sustainability in shipping.
Light Show: Ethan Estess x Bent Spoon
Light show designed in tandem with artist Ethan Estess and the Bent Spoon Dance Company. The piece was a 14 minute retelling of Rachel Carson's Silent Spring and it's aftermath, from chemical DDT through it's agricultural applications and uptake into the biosphere, to Rachel Carson's seminal book and it's backlash, to the introduction of the Endangered Species Act, and finally how the Stockholm Conference of 1972 served to change international environmental policy, and ultimately make the world a much better place.
